Job Description

The ClubSituated in 42 acres of landscaped grounds adjacent to the River Thames in Fulham, The Hurlingham Club is recognised as one of the worlds finest private member clubs. Since its opening in 1869, The Hurlingham Clubs croquet and tennis lawns, botanical gardensand stately Georgian Clubhouse have made it a sought-after destination for exclusive sporting and social activities.The RoleAs the Cleaning Lead, you will be the first point of contact for the department.You will work closely with the Soft Services Facilities Manager to lead, inspire and motivate the Cleaning Operatives, Team Leaders and Supervisors.Typical duties will include:

  • Strong focus on quality with impeccable attention to detail
  • Recruiting, training and managing the performance of the team.
  • Working alongside senior members of the management team across varied departments (including events areas, kitchens, restaurants, bars and sporting teams).
  • Dealing with Members, Committees and attending related meetings as required.
  • Inspecting and regular review of standards across the Club.
  • Carrying out and documenting audits.
  • Managing third party contractors.
  • Working alongside the HR department to ensure all relevant paperwork and tasks are completed (including timesheets, pay, holiday requests and team performance reviews).
  • Effectively able to manage team rotas for a seven day operational period.
  • Dealing with queries raised. These may include uniforms, holiday requests, tools/equipment and Health & Safety.
  • Ensuring risk assessments and method statements are followed, that signage is available, and that all PPE is provided and used.
  • Ensuring all materials are used in accordance with COSHH.
  • Responsibility for team engagement, recruitment, training, development and performance management.
  • Must be able to think strategically and evaluate changes needed on a seasonal basis and based on key annual activities for the Sports or Events departments
The CandidateCandidates will embody our Club values; excellence, responsibility and courtesy.Candidates will also have:
  • 5 years management experience.
  • At least 3 years experience working in the cleaning sector.
  • The ability to work flexibly
  • Demonstrable experience of prioritisation and working to deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • A strong understanding of customer experience and service delivery.
  • Proven track record of managing and tracking team performance.
  • Strong communication skills, working alongside senior management.
  • Managing teams to deliver to the bespoke needs of various departments and events.
  • A good understanding of COSHH regulations and Health & Safety policies.
  • IOSH qualification essential.
  • BICS qualification desired not essential.
  • NEBOSH qualification desired not essential.
  • Cleaning team mobilisation experience
