The RoleClaims Operations TechnicianLondon£ Competitive + Bonus & BenefitsAre you looking for an opportunity to take the next step in your career in insuranceWe are have an excellent opportunity for an Underwriting Assistant to join a high performing team at HDI Global, a London Market Insurance and Reinsurance provider based in their London office at 20 Gracechurch Street with the role offering a hybrid workingpattern. We are looking for an experienced individual from an insurance or finance background with good data and organisational skills to join our growing claims operations team as part of our plans for 2023.If your looking to make the next step in your career into insurance, this is the role for you!What you will be doing

  • Receive policy, premium and claim bordereaux from providers and process in accordance to company guidelines.
  • Prepare statements to submit to reinsurers, resolving/escalating any queries.
  • Liaise with MGAs, reinsurers and credit control team to manage cash settlements.
  • Initiate claims escrow fund set up and manage closure.
  • Management and reconciliation of monthly outsourced claims escrow funds.
  • Cashflow management of outsourced premiums and claims.
  • Creating and updating operational process manuals and other procedure documentation.
  • Assist with the documentation, maintenance and monitoring of compliance and governance initiatives.
  • Support the Technical claims teams to review SLA compliance and to meet internal and external audit requirements.
  • Actively participate in projects or other initiatives designed to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the team.
  • Validate and accurately enter data into company systems to enable reporting on the nature and financial impact of the claims portfolio.
  • Support for all Claims Operations processes, performance objectives and time management.
  • Support the induction and peer training of new employees.
  • Lead by example through seeking out and leveraging diversity in all its forms and to create an inclusive work environment where innovation and fresh perspectives are embedded for the benefit of our people, our business and for the customers and communitiesthat we support.
What we are looking for
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Good user of Excel & Word.
  • Good communication, (written and oral), and interpersonal skills; comfortable with phone & face to face discussions with technical claims, underwriters & operational colleagues.
  • Demonstrate potential people management and motivation skills.
  • Able to organise own workload effectively to meet service standards.
  • Deadline focused; able to work under pressure to meet tight/complex deadlines.
  • Good systems knowledge, experience of using systems to evaluate data.
  • Good understanding of insurance and the terminologies used.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • A Level or equivalent qualifications or CII qualified at certificate level/part qualified at diploma level OR 2 years experience in Insurance or relevant operational role.
  • Understand financial impact of technical data processed.
