Job Description

Timeplan is currently working with a large SEND school in Lambeth, who are recruiting several child support workers to start ASAP. They are looking for full and part time staff. Part time staff will work on an ad-hoc basis, however long-term staff will workfull time Monday to Friday. Working hours are 8.15am - 4pm, with all positions via the agency. The school are keen to recruit staff from a temporary to permanent contract.The school caters for students aged 2-11 with an EHCP for PMLD, SLD, ASD and complex needs. They have a strong academic focus; however, they also wish to develop students independence in a fun and nurturing way.Shortlisted candidates will ideally have previous SEND experience, especially with Autism, PMLD, complex needs and challenging behaviour. You will be working in a class of 4-6 pupils providing 1:1 support. Classes are generally formed based on ability. Manystudents across the school are non-verbal, therefore working knowledge of PECs and Makaton are desirable. There will also be personal care involved, so in date manual handling, tracheostomy and PEG feeding training is advantageous.Successful applicants are caring, calm and pro-active with a keen interest in SEND.For the right person, the school will offer excellent pay rates and a state-of-the-art working environment.Key skills and experience needed:

  • Experience supporting children with PMLD, SLD, ASD and complex needs.
