Child Health & Disability Team Manager About The Service This role attracts a market supplement of £5,000 (full time equivalent). The childrens disability team require practitioners who can respond to the diversity of needs whilst ensuring that Children withcomplex needs receive only the best. Cardiff offers the opportunity to grow and develop through high quality training, supervision and a wide variety of opportunities to pursue career development.Cardiffs Disability Team is a multi-disciplinary team whichconsists of social workers, social work assistant, support planners, PBS trained workers and carers assessors. The team offers support, guidance and interventions for children, young people and their families who have a sever or profound disability and thosewho are experiencing mental health difficulties. The team is split into two teams and you will join another established team managerto complete the team.Joining the team you will offer leadership to a team of health and social care professionals including, social workers, social work assistants, support planners and carers assessors. The Principal Social Worker will assist you in supervisingstaff and deputising.The work is varied and challenging and encompasses work with children in need to those children in care and everything in between. You will work with children and young people who have complex and diverse needs including those childrenwho are either in Tier 4 Mental Health provision or at risk of admission.This is an exciting opportunity to join the service which puts the individual at the heart of our work. The teams work from a strengths-based approach utilising models such as Signs ofSafety and strengthening families agenda we seek to work for a trauma informed practice and a no wrong door collaborative delivery of services these principles guide practice and shape how we meet the needs of young people and their families.What We Are LookingFor From You About you....... Ideally you will be a qualified professional within either a suitable health or social care degree with experience of leading a multi-disciplinary team You will suitably be registered with your registration board. You will bean experienced Manager with experience in leading in safeguarding. You will have a background in children with complex needs including child and adolescent complex mental health with expert knowledge of the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act and otherrelevant legislation. You will have significant understanding and awareness of mental health and emerging developments. You will have a proven track record in safeguarding, who can lead a diverse social work team and deliver exceptional consistent high-qualityperformance and service delivery in a timely accurate manner, with a relationship-based child centred approach. You will be confident to implement change, implementing creative social care strategies to provide the best possible outcomes. You will have a forward-thinkingvision and be dynamic in your social work management and practice, leading and driving forward a culture of excellence. Be an effective leader, to be able to mentor and support your team including, newly qualified social workers, support planners and carersassessors. You will be able to form, develop and maintain strong professional internal and external relationships and engage in multi-agency partnership working with education and health, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills on all levels.You will model the Signs of Safety approach, strengthening families, and will be responsible for ensuring an excellent standard of work practice exists within the teams, and to maintain and develop knowledge of research, practice developments, new initiativesand procedures and to utilise these in supervision and when planning for children.Additional information This role attracts a market supplement of £5,000 (full time equivalent).
