OverviewThe PIMCO Prime Real Estate GmbH ("PPRE") Chief Compliance Officer leads the global PPRE Compliance Function, advises the PPRE management in relation to all compliance matters and is responsible for overseeing a best in class global compliance program. ThePPRE Chief Compliance Officer is the primary point of contact for the PPRE management, shareholders and external stakeholders with regard to all compliance matters in relation to PPREs real estate advisory, investment and management activities globally. Primary Responsibilities

  • Lead PPREs global compliance department of ca. 10 compliance officers in Europe, the U.S. and Asia Pacific
  • Oversee the global compliance program for PPREs business activities, taking into account applicable regulatory and business risks, as well as requirements defined by relevant stakeholders (PPRE Board of Management, PPRE Executive Committee, PPREs SupervisoryBoard & shareholder etc.)
  • Implement and enforce PPREs global compliance policies across regions and subsidiaries, including overseeing the surveillance and testing program, and continually evaluating the efficacy of PPREs policies and procedures, in order to implement appropriateenhancements , where needed; Champion a strong culture of compliance and serve as a culture carrier for the compliance team and the PPRE organization more broadly
  • Monitor and Coordinate implementation of new or revised regulatory requirements relevant to PPREs business, in alignment with the legal function
  • Oversee the global compliance activities, including anti-financial crime, MNPI, conflicts of interest, information barriers, whistleblowing etc.
  • Advise PPRE management on regulatory and compliance risks, strategy and program
  • Provide regular reporting to the PPRE management, shareholder and other relevant stakeholders in relation to PPREs compliance risks and compliance program
  • Partnership with PIMCO & evolution of the Compliance Framework (i.e. implementation efforts and roadmap work including but not limited to systems)
Professional Skills Requirements
  • Have a strong sense of integrity, behaving consistently with expressed ethical values and principles
  • Exceptional compliance, regulatory and legal knowledge, including a strong understanding of investment related regulatory requirements in Europe (in particular MiFID, AIFMD); general understanding of the U.S. Regulatory framework for investment advisorsis preferred but not required
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills; the ability to effectively prioritize tasks, follow up, produce consistently accurate work, and meet strict deadlines
  • Highly flexible, multi-task oriented: capable of rapidly changing directions based on business demands
  • Consensus builder and team player with the ability to work well within a matrix organization
  • Service-oriented, with the ability to balance regulatory and policy standards along with a business perspective
Qualifications
  • At least 10 years of professional experience in compliance topics in a multinational company in the investment/asset management industry or top tier law firm, preferably with real estate investment background
  • Several years of proven leadership experience at a senior level: Strong leadership skills and the ability to steer a team of compliance professionals around the globe
  • University degree, preferably a law degree
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements applicable to investment managers, including the European MiFID and AIFMD, ideally also the U.S. Investment Advisers Act
  • Fluency in English. Other languages, in particular German and French, are an asset
