Job Description

A highly innovative start-up business operating within the energy storage market space is currently recruiting for a Flow Battery Engineer to join its team, based in Central London. As Flow Battery Engineer, you will play a lead role in the design and evaluation of redox flow battery cells, stacks and systems. Joining a small, dynamic team, you will have a big impact on the understanding and development of disruptive technology within the global energy storage market space.Flow Battery Engineer Responsibilities

  • Lead the companys flow battery engineering programme, working closely with research staff to design, build and test flow battery systems.
  • Undertake design studies of cells, stack and systems.
  • Design, conduct and analyse experiments in support of development programmes.
  • Liaise with suppliers, customers and external partners as required.
  • Produce technical reports and present to key stakeholders.
  • Maintain an awareness of competitor positions and the state-of-the-art in the field of flow battery engineering.
  • Make recommendations to ensure arising IP is protected.
    • Flow Battery Engineer Requirements
  • PhD level qualification in Chemical Engineering or closely related field of study.
  • Sound knowledge and understand of engineering simulation tool and methods, with experience applying them to solve problems.
  • Post-graduate experience within either an academic or industrial environment - designing, understanding and analysing laboratory experiments.
  • Experience of presenting technical data to a range of stakeholders.
  • Experience working with R&D technology relevant to flow batteries is highly desirable.
  • Design of electrochemical cells, stacks and/or systems.
  • Willingness to work as part of a team and to be open-minded and cooperative.
