Job Description

Role: Chef De PartieLocation: London, The Portland HospitalShifts: Flexible shift patterns to suit you, between Monday and Sunday, 6:30am to 10pmHours: Full-time – 37.5 hours per weekSalary: £24,243 to £26,936 depending on experience + excellent benefits (pension, health cover, flexible benefits package plus career development)Passionate about providing outstanding hospitality but not the long hours associated with working in a 5* hotel or Michelin star restaurant, why not consider The Portland hospital as your next career move.As one of the world’s leading mother and children’s hospital our food and customer service is what you would expect from a 5* luxury hospital or Michelin star restaurant.You will be creating dishes using seasonal products for our patients who include UHNW, dignitaries etc who expect the very best during their stay at The Portland hospital. High end VIP functions are a norm at The Portland and is another area to showcaseyour passion in providing exceptional food.You’ll be able to build on any commercial kitchen experience you might have, working under the supervision of our Michelin trained Chef, who will develop you in all of the sections within the kitchen, as well as introducing you to the world of IDDIS foods.Who we’re looking forWhile you don’t need any specific qualifications to join us, we’re looking for a special kind of person to join us – someone who is excited to learn and develop new skills. As well as this you’ll:

  • Have an in-depth knowledge of the baking standards, cooking and grilling techniques
  • Be able to work under pressure and in a fast-paced environment
  • Have a talent to learn new recipes and cooking procedures quickly
  • Show great organisation and time management skills
  • Be able to work efficiently and co-operatively in a team environment
