A new role following continued organisational growth with the purpose of becoming a critical part of the central Procurement team, establishing category strategies to deliver value for money and consistency across the business.Need someone to look at several indirect categories including IT, legal services, finance, marketing & comms with a particular focus on IT. The organisation is going through an IT transformation so there is a need for a category specialist with experience dealing with senior stakeholders and following public sector procurement (G-cloud) and facilitating tenders. You will need to display the following:*Develop and execute strategic procurement category plans for assigned commodities and services*Establish effective relationships with a wide range of senior and other stakeholders*Set and deliver clear goals for cost savings, value creation and supplier performance in context of business unit / Directorate operating plans*Use in-depth category expertise in relevant categories/commodities to establish or refine category strategies*Conduct market analysis to develop supply market approach*Utilize deep understanding of supplier dynamics and market trends to determine sources of leverageCompetitive Tendering *Project manage the end to end re-procurement of multiple categories each year against a planned pipeline of projects *Prepare and issue tender documentation for OJEU and other competitive processes *Utilise best practice tendering approaches and tools, where appropriate e.g. eAuctions *Conduct analysis of responses working closely with senior and other stakeholders to assess and select preferred supplier/s *Draft and place contracts for services and goods and assist the Operational Business with strategic contract management aspects *Support the business in planning and mobilising the new arrangements *Put in place a robust supplier performance measurement process/ toolsBadenoch + Clark acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment and an employment business for the supply of temporary workers.
