An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Carpentry and Joinery AssessorSalary: £23,441 - £29,409 (Dependant on experience and qualifications)Hours: 37 hours per weekContract: PermanentDo you have a passion for Carpentry and JoineryDo you have the enthusiasm,drive, and ability to make a difference in students learning journeyDoes your current role lack a challengeDo you have the drive and desire to research and introduce new learning avenuesDo you want to work for a college with over 50 years of teaching andlearning experience within a friendly and professional team of specialist expertsYESHighbury College has an opening for a positive and enthusiastic individual who has or is working towards a Carpentry qualification to Level 3 or above and who is lookingto work as a Carpentry & Joinery Assessor.Qualifications and experience which are needed for the role: Level 3 qualified in Site Carpentry, needs this to assess level 2 apprentices and level 3 Must have up to date CSCS card, this will allow access to the sitesthat require the safety card. 5 years on-site work experience as a minimum. This means they have worked in the industry in different aspects. A driving licence will need transport to get to the sites. You will need some basic I.T. skills (Word, Excel, Outlook,Teams) they will be given training on the OneFile system.The main duties of this post are: To mentor, guide and assess C&J Apprentices in their work to ensure they can demonstrate and evidence progression towards acquiring the skills and competencies to becomea Carpenter and/or Joiner To work and liaise closely with the Employer of the Apprentice to ensure the apprentice is fulfilling the needs of both the employer and the apprenticeship framework. Monitoring and recording of the apprentices progression Assistingwith related activities including attendance at open evenings and from time to time signing up the apprentice. This post will require travel within the local area and on occasions across the country to other College sites and employers offices.
