On behalf of this organisation, AMS are looking for a C++ Developer for a 6 months contract based in London (50-50 in office/home).Purpose of the Role:This role is in support of working on the primary trade capture, position management and confirmation application for the Credit Trading business, servicing the Flow and Structured Credit Derivative trading activities of a European Tier 1 investment bank.The application development team consists of Developers in London and Mumbai who are involved in the whole development lifecycle, from specification and design through to testing and maintenance. Developers work in a time-sensitive environment with emphasison both timely delivery and correct and reliable implementation. Current programmes of work are geared towards implementing connectivity with new Electronic Trading, Matching, and Settlement Platforms, multiple trade processing workflows, and application reengineeringto provide better scalability, throughput, and resilience.Responsibilities of the role:As a C++ Developer you will be responsible for:

• The role open is for candidates with a strong background in C++ development, preferably in a Windows environment, and with experience of large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded systems.
• The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, implementation, and testing of production-quality business features, which may involve development on both client and server software components.
• The ability to turn specifications into industrial-strength software solutions is essential, as is the desire and ability to gain an understanding of the underlying business processes. Developers are also expected to take full responsibility for their workup to delivery into the production environment, as well as providing some post-release support, including analysing problems or providing the support team with information.
• Solid experience with SQL (preferably in an Oracle environment) is essential.
• Confident communication and collaboration with multi-disciplinary team members of varying experience across different locations is a must.

What we require from the candidate:

• Very strong C++ experience (C++ 11 and above), on a Windows platform.
• SQL experience preferably (but not exclusively) in an Oracle environment.
• Experience of design, implementation and testing of large-scale, multi-tiered, multi-threaded systems.
• Experience with C#/.NET and migrations from C++ or integration with C++ would be an advantage.
• Confident and appropriate use of common C++ libraries (e.g Boost, STL).
• Knowledge of XML processing (transformation/rendering).
• Experience of refactoring code maintaining and improving code quality.
• Comfortable with source control DevOps concepts (Git, Jenkins, Ansible) and ideally some practical experience.
• Some exposure to Microsoft .NET Framework (4.5 or above), FpML, Oracle, IBM MQSeries, and Tibco Rendezvous would be useful though not essential.
