Job Description

A large Investment Bank based in London.DescriptionBusiness Manager - Prime Services acts as a main point of contact for department discussions with all typical Support Partners within the Bank for their relevant business area and liaises with other internal teams to facilitate resolution of issues or escalatesmatters to more senior business management colleagues / senior management.Utilises expertise to make independent judgments to deal with a variety of situations, with appropriate supervision and guidance from senior colleagues where appropriate.Accountable for tasks such as:Contribute to, and help implement, the Prime Services strategy and development.

  • Develop KPI dashboards to help manage and drive the business.
  • Conduct deep dives on activities and manage projects to address gaps and improve results.
  • Contribute to, and analyse, competitor benchmarking results.
  • Provide input to strategy planning sessions and presentations.
Ensure the operational well-being of the business line.
  • Take an active role in driving reviews and ensure remediation is implemented for operational incidents or improvements needed.
  • Help to design and implement control frameworks to manage risks where weaknesses are identified.
  • Run, sponsor or coordinate projects impacting the business line.
Monitor, analyse and help to improve Prime Services financials and KPIs.
  • Support the budget management process.
  • Investigate and challenge financial / other business KPIs where required.
  • Participate in cost and charges initiatives and identify and deliver opportunities for savings.
Play a role in ensuring a strong governance, regulatory and control framework is implemented across Prime Services and participate in audits.
  • Help to implement and run Prime Services governance forums.
  • Represent Prime Services in various forums across the Bank as required.
  • Contribute towards regulatory topics, control initiatives and audits impacting the business.
  • Follow-up on recommendations addressed by internal and external bodies to ensure closure before deadlines.
Develop relationships with Support Partners.
  • Keep Support Partners up to date on the Prime Services organization, evolution and targets.
  • Assist Prime Services and Support Partners where necessary in troubleshooting crisis situations and leverage on the organization to solve issues.
  • Serve as an entry point to Prime Services for Support Partners when necessary.
Contribute towards a positive culture across Prime Services.
  • Participate in People Strategy topics such as the implementation of Junior Development initiatives and the communication strategy.
ProfileBusiness Manager - Prime Services Knowledge, Skill and Experience
  • Professional qualification required with expert level experience in Prime Brokerage or business management within the Global Markets context, typically gained within a top tier investment bank.
  • In-depth knowledge of processes within a Global Markets function
  • Good working knowledge of a wide range of company-wide policies, procedures regulations and legislation within Financial Services.
  • Able to utilise knowledge and experience to deliver effective control processes for the team and projects, and to adapt to changing business needs.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into practical processes and operational strategies.
  • Strong stakeholder and people management skills to ensure the delivery of effective and compliant processes and solutions to facilitate the objectives of the team and the Bank.
  • Excellent written and oral English skills in order to articulate technical issues and take the complex and make it simple to enable effective communication with individuals across the business.
  • Strong personal focus on accuracy, organisation, and attention to detail, as well as being able to work with a high degree of autonomy.
  • Strong computer skills and a good knowledge of a range of standard computer software, e.g., Microsoft Office.
