Job Description

Business Data Analyst, Insurance London, City / HybridTo £50k plus bonus plus benefits Python, SQL Business Data Analyst opportunity has arisen for a market leading Insurance group. This role will be based within their growing BI team, helping them drive forward their portfolio of challenging and interesting data focused projects in the reinsurance space,leveraging data-driven insights to enhance decision-making and drive business growth. This is a 50/50 Business Analyst and Data Analyst role.Key Responsibilities

  • Collect business critical data-sets from broking entities across the globe, taking responsibility for up to 4 deliveries at any one time
  • Work with local technical SMEs and act as the link between them and our development team
  • Run workshops, interviews and prototyping sessions in order to elicit business requirements
  • Perform analysis for strategic and data projects, using Agile methodology (e.g. user stories, and backlog priority management etc.)
  • Help to outline possible data solutions and makes recommendations to the stakeholders
  • Actively manage changes to scope and requirements at all stages
  • Help with the prioritisation of requirements in alignment with the client and Product Owner
  • Work with Product Owners to build and maintain data product backlogs, addressing client requirements at every stage of the product/service delivery
Key Requirements:
  • A love of data and proven experience supporting data and technology driven developments within insurance as a Business Analyst / Data Analyst
  • Demonstrable SQL skills to query complex data sets
  • Confidence in influencing and challenging senior stakeholders
  • A deep understanding of Agile release management, backlog prioritisation and creating user stories
  • Knowledge and understanding of data visualisation projects
  • Good knowledge of Python and SQL
  • The ability to effectively context switch, adapting when requirements change
  • Insurance experience is a plus, but not essential
