A Grade 1 Listed Arts Centre in North London is looking for an experienced building manager. This beautiful, historic building is looking for somebody to care for it, maintain it and help to preserve its history. This wonderful building is situated in avery desirable part of North West London and is very well known and iconic in the area. It provides much appreciated arts and events for the wider community and is a sociable place where people gather to meet.Working for this charity the building manager will be responsible for planned and preventative maintenance, managing specialist contractors and for the overall maintenance and functioning of the building. You will tender for contractors, manage their performanceand make sure that work is done to budget and in a timely manner. You will also put in to place a planned preventative maintenance programme liaising with local authorities and planning departments to ensure that the covenants for a grade one listed buildingare adhered to. You will be responsible for facilities management, for health and safety within the building and for fire prevention strategies.This is a standalone role reporting into the board of Trustees; the successful person will be responsible for budgets, getting the best value and managing relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. This is a very vibrant arts and eventsspace so you will need to be personable and adept at dealing with a busy and forever changing environment. Were looking for somebody who can also be hands on and who isnt afraid to do a bit of painting and redecoration, filling in chips in the wall and climbingup ladders to inspect any issues! This is a flexible role where you will need to be on site sometimes later or earlier than expected hours, however there will also be flexibility back in return.
