We are currently looking for a Biomarker Discovery Scientist with experience of Metabolomics and/or Proteomics to join a leading Cell and Gene Therapy company based in the Central London area. As the Biomarker Discovery Scientist you will provide expert technical knowledge to a range of cross functional projects to support the development of Biomarker Discovery. The use of Metabolomics and Proteomics will accelerate the development of Cell and Gene Therapy products and you will play a central role in the integration of processes to develop next generation manufacturing platforms.This position would suit an experienced Scientist with hands on knowledge of designing, developing and executing protein and Metabolite Biomarker studies using LC-MS (Liquid Chromatography Mass Spectrometry).KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Your duties as the Biomarker Discovery Scientist will be varied however the key duties and responsibilities are as follows:1. Establish an LC-MS platform, including library creation, for the discovery of Metabolomic and Proteomic Biomarkers.2. Develop and validate Mass Spectrometry assays for the discovery and assessment of Biological compounds, using your knowledge of Metabolomics to optimise the cell culture process.3. You will troubleshoot, optimise and implement new processes for LC-MS assays.4. You will collaborate closely with a range of groups across to business to support Biomarker discovery through LC-MS assays. You will also work closely with statisticians and data scientists to analyse data generated.ROLE REQUIREMENTS:To be successful in your application to this exciting opportunity as the Biomarker Discovery Scientist (Metabolomics/Proteomics) Industrialisation we are looking to identify the following on your profile and past history:1. Relevant degree in a Life Sciences discipline, ideally with a Biological focus (e.g. Biology, Biopharmaceuticals, -omics studies) in addition to significant experience of designing and executing LC-MS studies to identify proteins or metabolite Biomarkers.2. Proven industry experience of developing LC-MS assays including a strong analytical background of Mass Spectrometry applications of Metabolomics and Proteomics. You will also ideally have experience of analysing large scale omics-based datasets.3.
