Job Description

Billings Assistant - Based in City of LondonSalary: £35,000-41,000 dependant on experiencePermanent position.The FirmOur client is a Top 20 law firm that operates across six continents.   • The Billing team is responsible for ensuring that client invoices are generated correctly and in a timely manner
  • Provide a support service to the partners in all aspects of billing
  • The role will include the production of billing guides, the preparation of draft bills, followed by the finalisation of bills for allocated practise areas
  • Take instructions to raise billing guides, write-off time and disbursements and to close files and ensure instructions are carried out
  • Closing files, processing write-offs and raising billing guides in Elite 3e
  • Using Elite 3e to make general matter, invoice or credit note inquiries
  • Allocating VAT as applicable
  • Provide accurate advice on billing queries, procedures, vat issues
  • Ensure bills are sent out and scanned onto Elite 3e
  • Raising billing guides, draft bills and finalising bills on Elite 3e
  • Raising Apportioned Billing schedules and ad hoc billing schedules in Excel
  • Ensuring that the agreed service levels are met
  • Provide support for the new NBI process by conducting a review of finance information provided by stakeholders opening new matters
  • Undertake ad hoc responsibilities as required by line manager
The Candidate
  • 1-2 years experience in a Billing position
  • Ideally experienced in Excel 3E and Whitehill
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills
  • High level of computer literacy (Word and Excel, or equivalent)
  • Self-motivated team-player, with a strong work ethic
