Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a Bid Manager to join our business to manage all of our bids and tenders to our potential new corporate customers, you will be a key individual of the new business team.This is a homebased role with regular travel to our Bicester sites and other depotsAbout us:The Speciality Group is one of the largest suppliers of fresh and speciality food to the UK foodservice industry and is made up of five specialist brands; Fresh Direct, M&J Seafood, Wild Harvest, Fresh Fayre and KFF. You will have responsibility for submission of tenders across Corporate Accounts as well as making sure the bid governance process is always followed.Key Responsibilities

  • Responsibility for the bid process, including tender writing and managing project plans
  • Approving and managing the quality of the tender documents and associated submissions when submitting to the prospective customer
  • Identifying and monitoring opportunities on external portals and downloading documents where necessary
  • Communicate the bid plan for all tenders including managing calls, arranging internal stakeholder meetings and keeping key staff informed of progress
  • Produce professionally written tender responses and proposals that articulate the organisations value proposition
  • On specific individual tenders the Bid Manager has scope to amend or adapt the core process in line with the specific customer requirements and timescales
  • Line management of a Bid Administrator and support with the roll out of Salesforce within the sales teams
  • Engage with sales teams within the wider group business to identify medium and long term pipeline opportunities both existing and new in order to identify those that are a priority and develop plans to ensure the eventual bid is won
To be successful in this role, you will have demonstrable experience and understanding of Bid Management, with professional or post graduate training in this area. You will also need to demonstrate excellent communication skills particularly in writtencommunication with strong attention to detail and project management skills.
