Our Cardiology department provides the ideal opportunity for talented nurses with a commitment to delivering world class patient care. We are seeking nurses with a strong clinical background who are enthusiastic to develop their clinical skills and make a real positive impact on the experiences of our patients. You will enjoy working in a busy environment and be a true team player. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential. A period of post registration experience in an acute setting is required but we will provide you with access to post registration education to support your cardiology career. We provide in-house training and have cardiology specific competencies to help our staff demonstrate their professional progression. As a young and dynamic team, we are particularly involved in patient safety and service improvement, so we are also looking for people who possess a natural desire to drive improvement initiatives and sustain excellent standards of our cardiac services. We are seeking an experienced Cath lab nurse to join our Interventional Cardiology Unit. Our team work within the Cardiac Catheter labs and in the recovery area providing highly specialist care. We have an exciting patient group, from elective day case patients to emergency patients requiring angiogram and angioplasty procedures along with complex device implants (Internal Cardiac Defibrillators, Permanent Pacemakers, Cardiac Resynchronization Therapy Defibrillators and Pacing). Our elective service runs Monday to Friday, and our emergency service extends out of hours to support our highly successful Heart Attack Service (Primary PCI) and emergency pacing. Our nurses work 4 days a week while supporting an on-call rota after appropriate training. (The on-call rota allows a day-off after the shift)Our team of expert interventional nurses have a varied job plan; they can scrub and assist for all procedures, work within pre-assessment clinic, recover post procedure patients and deliver patient education, support audit and service improvement, clinical governance, and receive acute Heart Attack patients direct from the London Ambulance Service who often have ROSC and are critically unwell. For further details / informal visits contact:Name: Rui TinocoJob title: Senior Charge NurseEmail address:Telephone number: ext. 37901
