The Backup Administrator will have primary responsibility for migrating systems from NetBackup to Veeam.Responsibility to deliver a stable, reliable and scalable backup environment which satisfies the performance, scalability and functional requirements of the bank.Technical Skills:

  • The role requires an in-depth knowledge of Backup & Recovery architectures and technology. In particular, an in depth knowledge of Veeam Backup and replication and IBM Spectrum Protect (Formerly known as TSM).
  • Troubleshoot stability and performance problems for Backups.
  • Definition and documentation of best practice process and design.
  • Install and configure Backup & Recovery hardware and software.
  • Identify requirements and develop/deploy solutions for Backup environments.
  • Knowledge of working for a company supporting a large number of TSM or Veeam backups.
  • Strong knowledge of at least one operating system.
  • Clear verbal and written communication to peers and managementDesirable:
  • Some working knowledge of RI legacy backup technologies:
  • Knowledge of NetBackup.
  • Knowledge of client operating systems Windows/RHEL/Solaris
  • Scripting experience
