Job Description

AWS Solutions ArchitectIR35 Status: OutsideRate: £400 - £550 p/dLocation: RemoteLength: 3 Months InitiallyMy client has a requirement for an AWS Solutions Architect to on a 3-month initial contract. The client provides expert consultancy, technical integration and software services to video service providers throughout the world.They require an AWS Architect to work with their product owners and other stakeholders to understand business requirements, and their technical teams to understand technical constraints and ways of working. This will involve helping to select the most applicabletechnologies and make the key design decisions within the project to enable a successful delivery.Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the pre-sales and development teams to explore different implementation options, estimate effort and produce a Statement of Work.
  • Document our designs and collaborate with project management, development and test teams to plan our work.
  • Collaborate with the development team to establish the project: environments, CI/CD pipelines, automated test strategy and tooling etc.
  • Support the project team throughout the delivery phase of the project, helping overcome design and implementation challenges that may emerge.
  • Help ensure that the delivered product meets our standards of quality, security and reliability.
  • Support our customers and development/test teams through launch and beyond.
Technical Requirements
  • In-depth understanding of modern cloud infrastructure
  • A track record of delivering complex software projects using AWS technologies
  • Competency in JavaScript/TypeScript and/or Python
  • Practical experience of:
  • - Databases: NoSQL and RDBMS
  • - Compute: AWS Lambda, containers and orchestration (EC2, Fargate, Kubernetes etc.)
  • - Messaging/integration: SQS, SNS, EventBridge etc.
  • - Storage: S3, EBS, EFS etc.
  • An understanding of event-driven architecture
  • Working knowledge of media codecs, container formats and protocols
  • Understanding of lean/agile development methodologies
