It requires a mindset and culture of challenge and professional scepticism, appropriate resources both people and intellectual, investment in central support for engagement teams and technology solutions.Within the last year we have increased our headcount significantly, invested in new partners, and commenced a significant investment programme in our Audit Quality Directorate.This is an opportunity for talented, high performing and ambitious Assistant Manager to join the Audit Quality Indicators Team in the Audit Quality Directorate (AQD) in an exciting period and help to shape the role and the expanding team. You will report intothe Audit Quality Indicators Team Partner and work closely with Audit Quality Indicators Manager.Audit Quality Indicators are metrics related to the audit stream that by their nature impact on the Quality of Audit work performed. One such example is training data by grade or employee type. Audit Quality Milestones (AQMs) help the firm monitor audit qualityand identify where improvements in audit quality and/or the system of quality management (such as controls, policies and procedures) may be needed as well as help evaluate that system.The key requirements for the role are an excellent ability to assess, manipulate and cleanse large volumes of data from various different sources in order to produce monthly and quarterly audit quality indicators, and to monitor these indicators and provideinitial analysis on outliers to pre-existing thresholds and propose actions to be taken. Clear and concise communication skills are vital, to both explain the data analysed to non-data experts and rationalise the significance of results identified to a varietyof stakeholders. As part of the Audit Quality Indicators team you will be responsible for:

  • Liaising with relevant parties to obtain, cleanse and manipulate data to produce monthly and quarterly key Audit Quality Indicators dashboards;
  • Monitoring compliance with the Audit Quality Milestones, investigating outliers and preparing regular reports to illustrate results;
  • Monitoring Audit Quality Indicators, including investigating those that may indicate quality concerns and escalating these as appropriate, including producing regular reports for internal stakeholders;
  • Performing periodic checks and data verification/completeness and accuracy assessments on the relevant systems, applications and databases to identify, investigate and correct data errors or inconsistencies;
  • Further assisting with the production of ad hoc reports for internal and external stakeholders, including but not limited to, audit leadership and regulators;
  • Maintaining and analysing data used to identify audited entities for enhanced support based on pre-existing indicators and ad-hoc requests; and
  • Forming a collaborative and healthy working relationship with the small number of Directors and Managers in the team
Youll be someone with:
  • High degree of IT literacy with an excellent knowledge of Excel and experience of manipulating large volumes of data (Alteryx and Power BI experience preferred)
  • External audit/ TRA Data Analytics experience preferable
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
  • Accuracy and attention to detail essential, including working with highly confidential data
  • Take personal responsibility and accountability for own work, with a proven ability to prioritise multiple tasks effectively to meet deadlines
  • Have the ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a small team
