My client is a top 10 firm, who is looking for an Audit Quality Director with Public Director experience to join their Audit Quality Directorate (AQD). In this challenging and rewarding role youll:* Work with key Managers, Senior Managers, other Directors and Partners within both AQD and the Public Sector Audit (PSA) stream to maintain an open and constructive environment in which to provide technical support and advice.* Carry out a role within AQD with a view to bringing technical expertise to the PSA business and bringing experience from the PSA business to AQD* Bring pre-existing PSA knowledge and audit experience to bear on technical matters arising is essential.Specific responsibilities:As part of the Audit Advisory team, providing advice and ensuring compliance with ISAs (UK) and the firms audit methodology including:* Manage the content of the firms audit software and ensure that it is properly developed and approved, including liaising with relevant stakeholders to scope changes due to UK specific standards, UK policy, feedback from regulators, and other user feedback;* Managing and supporting with the delivery of key Audit Methodology Projects which entails guidance, support, proposed changes to the audit tool and training;* General Methodology projects which include writing and updating technical guidance and policies;* Responding to audit methodology queries from audit staff at all levels;* Development and delivery of audit methodology training content relevant to key methodology projects;* Representative for sectors which includes responding to sector specific queries, sector training and support with developing sector specific content; and* Provision of support for the development and delivery of group learning sessions which are led by partners and managers in the audit stream.Youll be someone:* ACA or similar professional accountancy qualification* The successful candidate will have proven audit experience* Considers themselves an expert with regards to the UK auditing standards* Wide-ranging practical experience auditing PSA entities, ideally including digital and controls-based strategies regarding application of ISAs (UK) and audit methodology. * Demonstrate ability to communicate and present to large and senior audiences* High attention to detail* Experience of training design, development and delivery* Strong and practical problem-solving skills* Takes personal responsibility and accountability for own work * Proven ability to coach individuals and teams* Experience of internal and external audit file reviews is essential
