The position is offered on apermanent basis.Nature Neuroscience is a multidisciplinary journal that publishes high-quality research papers in all areas of neuroscience and provides a highly visible forum for communicating important advances to a broad readership. The journal welcomessubmissions in molecular, cellular, systems, computational and cognitive neuroscience that provide fundamental insights into the functioning of the nervous system and pathobiology of disease.Members of the editorial team participate in all aspects of the editorialprocess including manuscript selection, overseeing the peer review process, and commissioning and editing News & Views, Reviews, Perspectives and Comments.To be considered for this position you will have: A Ph.D. (or equivalent) in neuroscience or a relateddiscipline. Postdoctoral experience would be advantageous but is not required. Candidates with a strong background in any area of neuroscience covered by the journal may apply, although those with experience in cellular and molecular neuroscience, neuroimmunologyor genomics/bioinformatics are especially encouraged to apply. A broad interest and training in science. You must be able to demonstrate the breadth of your interest in scientific research, both within and beyond your specialty. The ability to critically evaluateresearch submitted to the journal, making well-reasoned editorial assessments on the basis of novelty, rigor and the implications of the research. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and be fluent in English (written and spoken). An eagernessto travel and meet scientists worldwide, when appropriate and required. A key aspect of the job involves liaising with the scientific community through attendance at scientific conferences and meeting with researchers via conference calls and on-site visits.Theposition will be based in our New York, London or Berlin office.
