Job Description

My client are a rapidly growing Consultancy who have a visionary approach to the industry. They work with a number of prestigious and high end clients, delivering detailed design on projects ranging in value up to £200million. Their portfolio is extraordinarily diverse and they particularly enjoy those projects which provide the opportunity to engineer for the common good - from making dramatic improvements to the life of a town or city, through to nurturing a new generation of exceptional engineers in their own in-house academyThey are looking to expand their Transport Planning Teams with two Senior level Transport Planners to assists in the development and growth of the team and to build on a number of exciting projects won in the last year. As well as the work won by the Transport Team, there is also a number of projects that have come off the back of their renowned Structures and Infrastructure Teams, so you will be the opportunity to utilise those work streams as wellThis role is ideally suited to an experienced Chartered Transport Planner who will lead the development of a transportation capability within business. You should have extensive experience in the realm of Transport Planning and should be able to apply your skills in production of transport assessments/statements, production of travel plans, feasibility input, liaison highway engineers as well as having the confidence to undertake business development to grow the team.Other duties of the role include producing, managing and executing a business plan for the development of a transportation team in conjunction with the Infrastructure team leader, leading transport bids, input into other bids as required and provide internal seminars to raise awareness of transportation to the wider business.It is essential that you have an in depth understanding of the planning process and requirements and the full project management cycle on projects. You will have strong writing skills and demonstrable experience in presenting technical assessments in reports, statements and plans for projects of all types and sizes. You will also be responsible for managing the budget of the team and have a proven track record in developing emerging relationships with clients at a senior level.As they have a large presence in two major UK cities, Sustainable Transport Planning is a key part of their work and you will have the opportunity to project manage and deliver these schemes.You will be educated to a degree level (or other equivalent qualification) in a relevant spatial or numerical subject and be professionally qualified or working towards professional qualification such as Transport Planning Professional (TPP), CEng or CIHT. You will also be required to demonstrate willingness and take a proactive approach to ongoing CPD, such as attendance at courses and professional meetings for yourself and the team.This truly is a unique opportunity with a company like no other as this business understands the importance of a collaborative approach between business streams.
