Job Description

Standard Occupational Code SOC: 1135Salary Range: £60,000-£80,000Purpose:As the Director, Human Resources the individual will have the responsibility for overseeing the most critical asset of Strawberry Star Group, its people. As such he/she will be responsible for developing and executing the Human Resource vision, corresponding strategies, and respective action plans and metrics for creating an engaged and highly productive environment. Initial focus will be on the design, development and execution of world-class programs and processes including: Talent Acquisition, Training & Development, Employee Relations, Change Management, and Employee Communications. He/she will report into the Chairman /CEO.Skills & Experience

  • Has detailed knowledge of and is fully equipped to deal with at in at least three of the major HR disciplines (i.e. TA, T&D, Employee Relations, OD, Change Management, Comp., EE Communications, Health and Welfare, Performance Management).
  • Has knowledge of both HR and general business practice affording him/her the opportunity to develop a sound business acumen.
  • Has demonstrated an ability to provide HR solutions that are formulated from the business needs, and not in the more typical HR vacuum.
  • Has detailed knowledge of talent acquisition (TA), successfully recruiting/selecting quality talent at all levels in an organization (i.e. from entry level through management, individual contributors, and technical positions).
  • Has a command of all forms of employee communications and has demonstrated an ability to effectively educate employees on company vision, strategy, culture and the like.
  • Duties & Responsibilities
  • As the HR Director will be responsible for developing the HR vision, corresponding strategies, actions and metrics as well as the successful execution and achievement of goals and objectives.
  • Stays abreast of new and relevant HR trends, processes and thinking, and capable of effectively integrating into the business. Remains current via conferences, readings, education, networking.
  • Will effectively read the "tone" of the organization and will keep the Chairman/CEO abreast of any potential employee challenges, issues, or opportunities.
  • Must have the confidence and presence to challenge senior leaders on employee issues that are contrary to Strawberry Star’s thinking, direction, and culture.
  • Works with the Chairman/CEO in providing on-going analysis of the leadership team. Regularly identifies leadership gaps, high potential employees, and corresponding actions so that Strawberry Star will be proactively developing leadership "bench" strength.
  • Responsible for ensuring that Strawberry Star has the appropriate policies and procedures in place, that managers are educated and complying with the policies, and that he/she maintains and updates these on an on-going basis.
