Purpose of PositionThe Cloud Ops Engineer would be a member of the CloudOps Team. That team acts as the guard rails for other teams in technology, allowing them to exploit cloud (Azure) technology most appropriate for their area, whilst minimising risk to production services.The CloudOps team are there to ensure that cloud resources and infrastructure are being configured correctly in order to stay compliant with the various regulatory and audit policies. As well as this, they ensure that cloud technology is being consumed withinthe agreed budgets.The CloudOps Engineer will play a key role in configuring networking within Azure, so must have a solid understanding of technologies such as VNet, VNet Peering, Site-to-site VPN and NSGs. As well as organizational design in Azure, using Management Groups,Subscription and Resource Groups. Adherence to defined policies will need to be managed using products such as Azure Policy.The role will also be responsible for supporting and maintaining the more traditional infrastructure, such as Meraki LAN & SD-WAN networking, Intune MDM, Exchange Online and AVD administration.In order to be successful in the role, the CloudOps Engineer must demonstrate a ‘self starter’ attitude and be prepared to propose solutions to complex problems, using an ‘automation first’ mindset.The nature of supporting business critical infrastructure, means that there will be a requirement to work unsocial hours when requested and take responsibility for ensuring that customer satisfaction is always maintained.The Engineer may also be required to provide directed support and service for other Pantheon offices around the world.Key Responsibilities
