Job Description

A global brand based in Central London is growing its Group Risk team and requires an Assistant Risk Manager.The Assistant Risk Manager is a hands on position responsible for supporting the development and management of the Enterprise Risk Framework (ERF) and process. Coordinating and evaluating effectiveness of managements first line of defence, ensuringthe effectiveness of the risk management process, and assessing or challenging the appropriateness of risk mitigation strategies. Integrating with other Brambles monitoring and compliance functions ("second line") to ensure the organisation is both alignedin its approach to risk and compliant with internal and external regulations and policies.The organisation operates a flexible hybrid working model either fully remote working or hybrid model with 4 days of homeworking.Key Responsibilities

  • Supporting all aspects of risk operations including risk assessment planning, delivery and reporting.
  • Assisting in risk workshops with senior stakeholders across the business.
  • Supporting risk owners and BU leaders to articulate and assess risk and appropriate mitigation strategies.
  • Working with the business to identify controls and action plans required to effectively manage the risks identified.
  • Building close working relationships with risk-responsible managers in each region to develop and maintain strong collaborative working relationships to promote, embed and develop risk management.Support the risk-responsible managers in each region tomaintain their Risk Registers, Heat Maps and Action Plans in each part of the business.
  • Support half-yearly Risk and Compliance Committees around the world.
  • Support the development of appropriate risk management reporting for senior leadership.
  • Provide support, education and training to the business to build risk awareness and to promote the right risk culture within the organisation.
  • Review the Groups risk and control environment to identify key risk indicators and set clear actions, where required to respond to those risks.
  • Drive the implementation and testing of Business Continuity Management
  • Work closely with Internal Audit and other assurance functions to provide risk information and gain assurance on the quality of risk management controls.
  • Maintain knowledge of Group Risk Management standards and external requirements such as the ASX Corporate Governance Principles and Recommendations, ISO 31000, COST ERM etc.
  • Risk registers refreshed on a half-yearly basis.
Skills & Experience
  • Minimum 2 years experience in risk-related roles
  • Big 4 risk management or internal audit experience is an advantage
  • Relevant experience reporting to Leadership Teams, Boards or Audit Committees
  • Experience of Business Continuity is desirable
  • Experience with risk tools is desirable
  • Comfortable with the use of data analytics
  • Understanding of COSO and ISO Risk frameworks
