Assistant Project Manager - LondonPosition: Assistant Project ManagerLocation: London - HybridContract: Initial 12-month Fixed Term ContractHours: Full timeSalary/Benefits: Up to £320/day (inside IR35)Role Details - Assistant Project ManagerWe are currently looking for an Assistant Project Manager to join a renowned organisation based in London on an initial 12-month Fixed Term Contract. Public sector experience is essential.This role will support the team in the safe delivery of projects with focus on working to deliver projects in line with the companys guidance.The post holder will be responsible for identifying emerging issues, providing recommendations on potential courses of action, and escalating to the Project Manager. The role deputises for the Project Manager ensuring project and resource plans are managedand monitoring delivery against the agreed plan.As the role will cover project work across the entire network the post holder will be flexible in terms of movement and location of work to successfully deliver assigned projects.Key responsibilities of the Assistant Project Manager:* Supporting various project delivery activities with the assigned project on a day-to-day basis, including issue resolution, progress reporting, risk management, budget management and on-schedule achievement of project deliverables.* Identifying emerging issues, risks, problems or variance to the agreed project objectives, plan, budget and scope. Where appropriate, providing recommendations on potential courses of action and escalating to the Manger.* Supporting the Project Manager - reporting and governance accountabilities, including progress reporting, risk and issue management, budget and financial management, planning and scheduling, and document control.* Supporting the Project Manager - building effective relationships with project sponsors and other key stakeholders.* Assisting in the management of external contractors/suppliers with accountability for discrete aspects of the works whilst working in a collaborative manner with contractors and stakeholders.Key skills required of the Assistant Project Manager:* Public sector experience is essential.* Knowledge and understanding of project and programme management methodologies and their practical application in a transport setting.* Knowledge and understanding of project controls tools and techniques.* Understanding of programme management methodologies and processes.* Professional Qualification in Project Management, e.g. IPMA Level D, APMP, PRINCE2.* Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with people within and outside the organisation.* Analyse complex data (quantitative and qualitative), draw conclusions, and produce solutions.* Build effective working relations with people within own project teams and with delivery partners outside the organisation.* Ability to work under pressure in a complex environment and deliver work with conflicting priorities to tight deadlines.Robert Walters Operations Limited is an employment business and employment agency and welcomes applications from all candidates
