Job Description

Assistant Building Surveyor LondonPermanent, Full-Time£30-40kHere at Howells we are working with a leading Construction Consultancy to recruit highly skilled and experienced Assistant Building Surveyors to join their team in London, working alongside Housing Associations and Local Authorities on refurbishment schemes.The focus of the role will be on general building surveying, offering opportunities to cover all competency areas and work towards achieving chartered status, with comprehensive support provided for APC candidates.To qualify for this position, candidates must hold an RICS accredited degree and possess prior experience working as a Building Surveyor, preferably within a Consultancy. The ideal candidate should be self-motivated, with a strong understanding of BuildingSurveying practices. Additionally, exceptional attention to detail, effective communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively are essential for success in this role.Key duties include:

  • Inspection of building
  • Assisting the senior surveyors
  • Preparation of technical due diligence reports
  • Building pathology surveys
  • Monitoring construction work and the performance of project design teams
  • Producing reports to clients and engaging face to face
  • Travelling to appointments across London and the South East
  • Experienced in dealing with Party Wall matters, Dilapidations, Defect diagnosis and Contract Administration
  • Must have good knowledge of current Building Regulations
