Meraki Talent are delighted to be engaged on an Assistant Accountant (Part-Qualified) vacancy for a global business based in Edinburgh. The role is paying a salary of £25,000 - £30,000 per annum plus study support and additional benefits. The Company The company are a global business who have thrived throughout the pandemic. The Role/Person The role of Assistant Accountant (Part-Qualified) will report into the departmental Finance Manager, with a dotted line to the European Finance Manager. The successful individual will be involved in the preparation and maintenance of the accounts and compliance for various sites. This individual will be well versed in full month end close - journals, accruals, and prepayments; as well as some experience of reconciling the balance sheet. It would be advantageous if this individual had knowledge of international accounting standard (IFRS) as well as US GAAP (although neither are essential). On Offer The role of Assistant Accountant (Part-Qualified) is offering a salary of £25,000 - £30,000 per annum with study support. There is also a discretionary bonus on offer as well as a flexible working policy. The office is based in Edinburgh (with parking available on site) and is easily accessible via public transport. N.B. you will be working from home until further notice (due to Covid-19 government guidelines). You will be involved in but not limited to the following duties: Reporting to the departmental Finance Manager Monitor and maintenance of the departments financial compliance and regulatory accounts Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual statements (balance sheets and income statements) Perform month-end and year-end close processes Business partner with various other teams within the corporate accounting function Liaise with external auditors - handling any queries or issues Organise internal audits Monitor and report on accounting discrepancies Conduct detailed risk analyses Other ad hoc accounting related duties as/when required To be considered for this opportunity you must: Be a part-qualified accountant or working towards an accountancy qualification (ACCA/CIMA/ICAS etc) Have a minimum of two years experience of month end/financial accounting Practical experience using ERP software(s) would be advantageous Knowledge of international accounting standards would be desirable but not essential (IFRS/US GAAP) Have good working knowledge of MS Excel capabilities (pivot tables, vlookups etc.) Have excellent interpersonal and relationship building capabilities If you are interested in finding out more about this opportunity, please do not hesitate to get in touch with Jack Ramage for a private and confidential discussion.
