Job Description

Job Title - Asset Protection Scheme Interface Manager Location - London, James Forbes HouseAbout the role / project: Rates - £351.49 LTD/Umbrella or £306.90 PAYEIn Scope of IR35 The Asset Protection Scheme Interface Manager is responsible for managing a portfolio of projects through the various stages of the life cycle and to support and assist the Project Manager in delivering successful outcomes for the overall team activities.

  • Some of the projects include asset protection to bridges, tunnels, residential and commercial developments, statutory undertakers crossings, level crossing alterations, electricity pylons, telecoms masts and a host of others, including major schemes such as Crossrail, as well as hundreds of minor schemes which need a fairly rapid response. Carry out the engineering duties to a portfolio of projects from inception to completion, including assessing project remits, advising in production of consultation estimates, signing off method statements, assessing design approvals required and monitoring site activities.
  • Communicate effectively with people from a wide variety of backgrounds, orally and in writing.
  • Knowledge and competence in applying management, company/industry standards and practices to day to day work.
  • Appreciation of the impacts on the railway from the wide variety of projects characteristic of the teams work.
  • Planning of activities and thinking clearly about objectives and timescales for achieving them.
  • Managing, motivating and mentoring other engineers when required.
  • Skills in persuasiveness as applicable to enforcing railway requirements on clients and contractors in a professional manner.
  • Appreciation of railway access planning and possession requirements.
  • Being organised in day to day activities.
  • Relevant successful construction experience in the railway industry at a professional level.
  • Commercial, financial and contractual awareness and experience in cost estimating, forecasting and working to budgets and commercial/contractual/ financial criteria.
  • Ability and experience in managing submissions by contractors, consultants and clients.
  • Safety, environmental and quality consciousness.
  • Driver of behavioural improvements in both self and others to help the whole team succeed in meeting company objectives.
  • Educated to degree level in preferably Civil Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent.
  • Professional, consistent and effective engineering abilities.
  • Membership (or working towards membership) of an appropriate Engineering Institution or other professional bodies, or equivalent.
  • Your experience will include:
  • Rail
  • Stakeholder experience
  • Understanding of risk mitigation as HS2 utilities are required to carry out some disconnections on the programme of works that may affect part of Euston Station and to ensure that Euston Station still runs smoothly
  • Able to deliver solutions
  • Euston station experience would be beneficial
  • Educated to degree level (Engineering discipline ideally)
  • Buildings and Civils background
  • Railway Knowledge - essential
