Job Description

As an Asset Manager within our Specialised and Asset Finance (SAF) division, you will play a critical role in making informed financial risk decisions. SAF provides innovative and traditional capital, finance and related services to clients operating in Global markets. With offices in Australia, Asia, North America, and Europe, SAF specializes in: Leasing and Asset finance. Tailored Debt and finance solutions. Asset Remarketing, Sourcing, and Trading. Working primarily on equipment valuations and residual value analysis for loan or leased equipment, you will oversee collateral analysis for relevant financing structures, expected use and various transactional data to provide information to determine equipment future residual valuations. Using your previous experience within a similar related role, you will also provide guidance to key stakeholders, on technology, application, structure of maintenance parameters and return options to preserve value in the equipment, control and assurance of the security pools, end of lease management requirements and carry out regular audit practices across the equipment remit. You will monitor and manage key equipment risks throughout the transaction cycle, requiring on-site inspection of the equipment (especially in international markets and often remote locations), attend auctions and industrial clearance sales, provide analysis of current market and industry conditions and evaluate alternatives regarding the current or potential future disposal of equipment. Reporting to senior management, you will leverage your exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills to provide regular updates on business activity, ensuring you are regularly keeping up to date with industry standards, new developments and future value implications. You will be comfortable collaborating across different business units to ensure best practice, consistency and process are always applied. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years experience in one of the following areas but will also be expected to provide valuations across this full range of sectors in which Macquaries SAF EMEA team operates: Energy assets: thermal reciprocating engines (gas or diesel), solar panels, batteries and ancillary balance of plant Resource Industries: mining equipment, heavy construction machinery or industrial Exposure to alternative fuel vehicles (EV, FCEV, Biogas) would be an advantage. An extensive international network with Brokers /Auction Houses / OEM Dealers would be an advantage and you will have or working towards a RICS qualification or equivalent professional qualification. Experience in sales and/or business development will be highly regarded and an exposure to a corporate or banking environment would be considered a plus.
