Mentalization based Art Psychotherapist - BAND 7Maternity cover for an Art Psychotherapist for 1 year starting in March 2021.2 days a week (one of those days must be Thursday)Base: Roundwood Resource CentrePOST REQUIREMENTSQualified and registered Art Psychotherapist (Art Psychotherapy only)Substantial experience in adult mental health within the NHS (Minimum 2years)Post qualification training in MBT/Mentalization based art psychotherapyEvidence of Continued Professional Development since qualifying The post holders work load will include assessment and treatment of people experiencing symptoms associated with Borderline Personality Disorders/EUPD.Individual and group work should draw on Mentalisation based art psychotherapy as part of the Mentalization based arts psychotherapies programme within the Complex Emotional needs pathway at North West Arts Psychotherapies Service. The post holder will be required to be actively involved in the NorthWest Arts Psychotherapies referral process and carry out specialist assessments and complete reports associated with this work. The post holder will need to develop good links with other involved Multi Disciplinary Team (MDT) members and GPs and often work as a Lead Professional, managing the risks associated with this client group.The art therapy service will include doing systematic assessment, treatment and evaluation of individual and group work, using art therapy and Mentalisation Based Art Therapy. The post holder will be also required to manage and clinically supervise allocated staff, specifically art therapy trainees, and regularly undertake arts psychotherapies research/audit as part of the Trust Arts Therapies research strategy.The post holder will be required work autonomously and to manage a busy and complex caseload. Significant interest and experience of working with personality disorder is desirable, as is experience, of and an interest in research.The North West Arts Psychotherapies Service consists of a large and diverse team of therapists, providing music, art, drama and dance-movement therapy for adults with mental health needs in North West London across a variety of inpatient, outpatient and community services. Monthly team meetings including CPD and Change Progress Groups, which take place on a Thursday morning at the Roundwood Resource Centre.
