Job Description

Multidisciplinary Architectural Practice working on local residential and commercial projects. You must be: Proficient user of ARCHICAD. 3+ years professional experience. Experience multi-unit residential schemes as well as commercial schemes for developers and end users. Ability to create tender packages and construction drawing skills. Excellent 3D modelling abilities. Proven knowledge of current UK building regulations. Outstanding technical design and detailing skills with ability to articulate high-quality and detailed schemes, thinking and working directly within a 3D BIM environment. Experience and understanding of BIM concepts, workflows and collaboration. Experience in delivery of projects through RIBA stages 4-7, including production and coordination of all projects drawings & information. Tangible experience in delivering tender and construction packages. Substantial hands-on experience with site inspections, running meetings and managing expectations during contract administration. Excellent time management and multi-tasking skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines. Excellent communication and client presentation skills.Primary duties:

  • Advising on technical matters during RIBA stages 0-3.
  • Drawing and sketching architectural and interior design solutions by hand.
  • Modelling schemes in BIM (ARCHICAD).
  • Independently producing complex and detailed architectural drawings from the ARCHICAD model.
  • Producing schedules from the ARCHICAD model.
  • Document control of incoming third party material.
  • Document control of design information for external issue.
  • Independently developing complex 2D technical construction details and defining office standards.
  • Administrating Contracts related instructions, documentation, and certificates.
  • Independently researching appropriate products, materials etc.
  • Reviewing design information prepared by junior team members, providing feedback and support.
  • Drafting NBS specifications, researching products and construction methods as necessary.
  • Participating in, and contributing to, team meetings and design workshops, and CPD presentations.
  • Complying with Health & Safety, Employment and Environmental Policies.
  • Production of tender and construction packages: drawings, schedules and specifications.
  • Coordinating work by external consultants & internally with the rest of the team.
  • Managing tender processes: Documentation, issuing and analysing (in collaboration with a Quantity Surveyor).
  • Site inspections: Liaison with contractors on site, responding to RFIs, managing site procedures & producing documentation.
