Application Support Engineer - Banking - Fully RemoteOur client is one of the worlds leading investment banks, offering clients unparalleled expertise, market access and trading opportunities.Theyre looking to hire a technical Application Support Engineer.This is a 6 month+ contract, paying ~£550 - £580 per day, inside IR35 with fully remote working - 100% work from home.Youll work with the Front Office, Quant Strat and Trading teams, providing technical expertise on complex, innovative Risk applications covering both Linux / UNIX, databases (SQL), scripting (Bash etc) along with some Java and Big Data tools (HBase, Hadoop etc)Youll be heavily involved with cutting edge Development and Data Analytics teams and have the chance to work with Cloud tools (AWS) and DevOps methods.Theyre looking for someone to start ASAP - this is the perfect opportunity for any experience App Support professional within banking!Requirements:- Strong experience of Production / Application Support in investment banking- Strong knowledge of Linux / UNIX and Scripting (Bash etc)- Knowledge of Java (JVM / JMX) would be ideal- SQL and database experience (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL etc)- A problem solving and logical mindset- Excellent communication skills- Knowledge of Cloud and AWS would be ideal - not essential- Experience of Big Data would be great
