This role is deemed as a Certified role under the PRA & UK Financial Conduct Authority - Individual Accountabilities Regulations and may require the role holder to hold mandatory regulatory qualifications or the minimum qualifications to meet internalcompany benchmarks. As Barclays Research Analyst, you will be a part of Cross-asset Research department producing in-depth, medium to long-term research on trends or events in financial markets by using quantitative, data-driven approach to answer relevant research questions.In this role you will have the opportunity to work on projects that vary across asset classes (e.g., fixed income, equities, etc.) and geographies (e.g., the US, Europe, Asia). Hybrid WorkingWe are currently in the early stages of implementing a hybrid working environment, which means that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. What will you be doing Building and interpreting quantitative state-of-the art financial models Contributing to written research notes and publications on a regular basis Maintaining existing financial models Analysing, collecting, and combining data from traditional and alternative data sources Working with Big Data What were looking for: Masters Degree in Finance/ Economics/ Data Science or equivalent Beginner to intermediate-level experience with open-source software such as Python/ R Familiarity with standard Python/ R packages Experience/ Coursework in Mathematics/ Econometrics/ Statistics with a solid academic track record Skills that will help you in the role: Organised with superior attention to detail Machine Learning experience Familiarity with SQL Where will you be workingIn the heart of Canary Wharf, our headquarters at Churchill Place boasts onsite amenities such as; a gym, staff restaurant and deli bar, and is easily accessible by tube and bus links.
