An exceptional opportunity to join a team of analyst and researchers driving the national policing response for the UK!ur core responsibilities are within public order policing – to develop assessments, event planning and the review of security in line with policing’s core duties to prevent and detect crime, keep the peace and to protect life and property.Public Order policing is changing and evolving - emerging technologies and a growing population make the assessment of risk to public order more complex than ever. That’s why we need experienced intelligence professionals to work with us. We are seeking people who are passionate about analysis; who realise not everything is what it seems; and who know that maintaining the peace and facilitating lawful protest is enshrined in UK legislation. We surge in times of national crisis and in preparation for national events, which leverage our structure and capabilities. This includes delivering the national strategic assessment of the impact of Covid-19 on UK crime and policing, EU Exit and other national events. It’s about collecting, exploiting, assessing and interpreting a range of overt and covert information sources and delivering valuable, influential analysis to tackle threat, risk and harm across the UK. These assessments will be instrumental in providing insight and direction for the national policing response to an array of business areas. You’ll be working on critical and high impact events so you must have proven experience in intelligence. Ideally, you’ll have gained this in Law Enforcement, Government, the Military, Financial or Security sector. You’ll also have completed an accredited intelligence training course. And as a natural problem-solver, you’ll prioritise and identify issues and make quick, sound decisions. This opportunity is available to experienced intelligence researchers on promotion as well as experienced intelligence analysts. We ask that intelligence researchers have completed a minimum of two years in a law enforcement role and that they have completed the requisite training.Flexibility and creativity are key, as is a keen interest in data analysis and exploitation. And, as you’ll be a vital part of a multi-faceted team, you’ll also need strong collaboration and negotiation skills, plus a talent for communicating clearly and succinctly.
