Job Description

Activity Coordinator Service: The Croft Location: Amersham, BuckinghamshireSalary: £8.84Hours: 16 HoursJob Purpose:

  • To organise and implement appropriate stimulating activities to meet the individual needs of the older service users in the service in order to value and enhance their day to day quality of life.
  • To organise and carry out physical, occupational, recreational and educational activities to meet the needs of older people.
  • To plan and implement programmes of activities both within the Home and outside and to maintain a record of activities for each Service user.
  • To attend team meetings on a regular basis to feedback information on the progress of individual service users and their care reviews, their changing needs and circumstances and to undertake regular supervision as required by Heritage Care policy.
  • To be involved with the key work in planning an individual programme of activities.
  • To build and maintain good relationships with the local community
  • To undertake all statutory training and all other training as identified in supervision, Personal De-velopment Plans or as instructed by the Line Manager.
  • To follow policies and procedures relating to Health and Safety at work including food hygiene and manual handling.
  • To provide emotional support as required by the service users.
  • To be available to provide activities during the weekend and evenings as required.
  • To use computers on a regular basis; to access Ambient Support resources, for example, staff website, online payslips, care management system and undergo e-learning.
  • To undertake all responsibilities according to the policies and procedures detailed by Heritage Care and CQC Essential Standards of Quality and Safety.
  • To act at all times in a way that presents a positive image of the postholder
  • The postholder may be directed from time to time by the Manager or Deputy to carry out other du-ties and responsibility commensurate with his/her post, grade, knowledge and experience.
  • Job DescriptionKey Responsibilities:Qualifications/Education/TrainingWilling to complete the Care CertificatePossess Care Certificate but the Diploma in Health & Social Care or related qualification would be an assetExperience:• Good team player• Demonstrate experience of working with older people and those with special needs, e.g. sensory impairment, mental health needsSkills & Knowledge:• Demonstrate a knowledge of organising and co-ordinating appropriate activi-ties.• Demonstrate a knowledge of monitoring and recording of activities for each service user.• Good literacy, numerical and verbal skills.
