Job Description

Accounting BA - Wholesale Lending - £775 p/day (Umbrella) - LondonHarvey Nash are supporting the hire of an Accounting Business Analyst on behalf of a Global Tier 1 Banking organisation.

  • £775 p/day (Inside ir35, via umbrella)
  • Canary Wharf (3 days on site/ 2 remote)
  • 6 months (with potential to extend)
Role Overview:Accounting business analyst with knowledge of wholesale lending. You should understand the product and its supporting operating model (transaction management, reporting, controls, data and technology requirements, balance sheet, key metrics).
  • Accounting Business Analyst working with Program, Operations and Finance team members to drive wholesale lending balance sheet substantiation process improvements.
  • Define and document Operations future state processes. Working closely with Operations and Finance to drive internal productivity and re-engineer processes to reduce errors and improve reporting effectiveness.
  • Evaluate current state process and conduct risk assessments for gaps to target state, minimum control standards and policy. Develop remediation plans with program leads and stakeholders to resolve gaps.
  • Document and evaluate existing product processor accounting methodology; review of product life cycle events, accounting engine set up, trial balance and GL posting.
Required Skills/ Experience:
  • Qualified accountant with experience as a Business Analyst on Transformation projects or workstreams (not just BAU)
  • Balance Sheet Substantiation, Composition and Risk
  • Loans / Wholesale lending/ Fixed income product experience
  • Strong problem solving expertise - able to identify risks and plug gaps.
  • Familiarity of financial product GAAP accounting practices
  • Loan IQ experience beneficial
