Job Description

French Accountant for Artists, Authors & FreelancersDo you have a passion for the cultural and artistic world Are you a whiz with numbers and French tax regulationsRole: Accountant / Payroll Specialist - French SpeakerContract Role: 3 monthsDay Rate: £250 - £400 (outside)Location: London / HybridWe are looking for a talented French-speaking accountant to join the client team and specialise in managing the finances of artists, authors, freelancers, and intermittent entertainment workers.What youll do:

  • Become a financial whiz for our creative clients: artists, authors, freelancers, and intermittent workers.
  • Handle payroll for intermittent workers, ensuring smooth processing through our management provider.
  • Manage freelancer payroll from contract review to processing payments and verifying payslips.
  • Oversee artist and author accounts, ensuring invoices comply with French accounting and tax regulations.
  • Review artist fees and copyright payments for accuracy.
  • Prepare annual tax declarations and manage expense recording for our creative clients.
  • Calculate and declare artist-specific taxes like Agessa contributions and CSG CRDS.
  • Provide excellent communication and address the financial needs of our artistic clients.
  • (Optional) Assist with internal financial reconciliations.
What you bring to the table:
  • An accounting degree.
  • Previous experience managing finances for artists, authors, freelancers, or the entertainment industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of French tax and social regulations for artists.
  • A passion for the cultural and artistic sector and the ability to understand its unique needs.
Bonus points if you have:
  • Experience with the Starcontent application or similar payroll software.
  • Experience with Workday integrations.
