Job Description

Our client delivers managed IT services to businesses across the UK. They now have an excellent opportunity for a candidate with 1st line support experience to work 3-4 day a week with their prestigious client based in Canary Wharf. As you will be workingfor this Wokingham based client and their London client, you are likely to have a base in the Reading area with excellent train line services into central London. You will need to be willing to travel to London 3 days a week (travel all paid)and then work in Wokingham on the days you are not in London. If you are London based you will need to be able to travel to Wokingham 1-2 days per week.There may be an option to have work from home day too.In this role you will be working with an experienced IT manager who will be able to share their experience and develop your IT skills.Your role:

  • You will be responsible for providing client support using the telephone, via email and using remote access to client devices.
  • You will also be responsible for resolving IT support issues to the satisfaction of each customer using state of the art Managed IT Services software for recording the progress of each support call.
  • You will provide proactive hardware, software and peripheral maintenance in addition to building, installing, configuring and supporting workstations, laptops and other associated devices and peripherals.
The person:
  • 1+ years 1st line desktop and support experience
  • Ideally you will have achieved one or more formal IT qualifications and be able to demonstrate your enthusiasm for technology and a clear understanding of current IT systems.
  • The position requires a high degree of interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues is essential.
  • You must be analytical with good problem-solving skills and have the ability to benefit from both formal, and on the job training.
  • Subject to a successful three months probationary period you will be considered for further training on external courses, appropriate to the requirements of the company and the further development of you own particular skills, and which will lead to furtherformal industry qualifications.
  • You will require a clean driving licence and your own vehicle for which you will receive a mileage allowance when used on company business.
