Please Note: Applicants must be authorised to work in the UKOur client, a family-run business since 1935, distributes milk across Carmarthenshire County. They are proud to serve a wide array of customers, including supermarkets, mini-marts, petrol stations, hotels, restaurants, cafes, schools, and nursing establishments.About the Role:As the Assistant Manager, youll support daily operations under the office managers guidance. This involves handling school orders via phone & email, dealing with customers & liaising with drivers regarding deliveries, and payment input. Occasional Saturdaycover and on-call cover for potential breakdowns and the role requires cover of milk rounds when staff illness occurs. There can be a mix of outdoor and indoor work with this role.Key Responsibilities:
  • Log orders payments
  • Manage document storage and delivery
  • Handle office tasks, including phone communication
  • Provide occasional Saturday cover
  • On-call covering breakdowns and illness when required
  • Mix of outdoor tasks when required
  • Liaising with customers and delivery roundsmen
  • Ensure smooth operation in a fast-paced environment
The Ideal Candidate:Our client is looking for someone with:
  • Fluent English; Welsh is a plus
  • Secondary education with at least 1 year of relevant office experience
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Word Perfect, Outlook Mail, and MS Excel
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • Professional telephone manner
  • Excellent organisational skills in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills
  • Diplomatic and problem-solving capabilities
Desirable Qualifications:Experience in the following would be advantageous:
  • Administrative assistance in an office environment
  • Operating computers within a network
