Job Description

Pathology Governance ManagerAneurin Bevan University Health Board is currently undertaking a once in a career transformation of how healthcare will be delivered in South East Wales and we are looking for an exceptional and inspirational leader who can help us turn our dreams into realityIf your values align with our Pathology vision below then this is the challenging role for youDelivering a leading, people centred service which is innovative, dynamic and continually improvingAs the Pathology governance manager you will work alongside the directorate manager, department managers and the wider pathology workforce to ensure the services we offer are of the highest quality. You will be supported by a committed Pathology senior management team and the wider organisation to deliver the vision and ensure the 600,000 residents we work for receive the high quality services they deserve.And here are the essential facts………….37.5 hours per week based at The Royal Gwent Hospital, Newport, however the post holder will be required to work across other Aneurin Bevan sites and attend regional and national meetings as requiredYou will have extensive experience in delivering a governance agenda including:

  • Pathology Quality and Accreditation
  • Training an exceptional workforce
  • Promoting working to the highest standards of Health and Safety
  • You will be HCPC registered, hold an MSc or possess equivalent post graduate experience, demonstrate a commitment to CPD, have excellent interpersonal and time-management skills, be committed to service excellence and be keen on exploring alternative ways to deliver the governance agenda.You will be responsible for professional leadership, strategic direction, operational and quality management, budgetary control where appropriate and continuous improvement of your service. A managerial qualification is highly desirable.The post holder will be expected to manage and develop all aspects of the Pathology Governance agenda in line with the objectives of the Health Board and in compliance with relevant regulatory and accrediting bodies. The Governance Manager will be an active member of the Pathology Operational Management Team working closely with the other Pathology leads and will be expected to represent Pathology at Health Board, Regional and National level meetings with respect to Quality, Training and Health & SafetyThe ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.Closing date: 29th December 2020For further details / informal visits contact:Mario Minoli - Pathology Directorate Managermario.minoli@wales.nhs.uk
