Applications are invited to join our dynamic team for the posts of Medical Laboratory Assistants, these posts will be based at the The Grange University Hospital but will include rotation to the Nevill Hall and Royal Gwent Hospital as and when required.These posts will be based in the Pre-Analytical area of Pathology where we cover a 24/7 service 365 days per year.These are demanding but interesting posts in busy laboratories with a wide variety of duties including data entry, sample sorting and labelling, dealing with the public, and dealing with telephone enquiries from doctors, nurses and patients. In addition some pre-analytical technical duties are required such as sample centrifuging and other preparatory work. Full training will be provided for these and for other duties that may be included although previous experience would be beneficial. As a minimum, candidates should be computer literate, have a good standard of education and have effective communication skills.
