LD Arts Therapies Team, Aneurin Bevan University Health Board (ABUHB) is a vibrant service, offering tailored arts therapies approaches for people with a learning disability in Gwent. We are delighted to invite applications to join our creative and progressive team.This is an opportunity to join a well-established but newly re-structured arts therapies service, currently comprising a Dramatherapist, Art Psychotherapist and Music therapist. Integrated within LD Psychological Services, we work into inpatient Assessment and Treatment services (Ty Lafant), Intensive Community Services and Community Learning Disability Teams, and are committed to the beneficial value of an MDT approach, which we uphold with our colleagues in all areas.We are committed to continual evaluation, reflection and development of our practice as an integral part of our work. We work in line with the Clinical Futures aspirations of tailoring our service to meet individual needs, and also in respect of the demands of working safely thoroughout Covid measures in new and creative ways, including making opportinities for co-production with individuals with a learning disability.We are looking for an enthusiastic, committed individual to provide high quality, specialist therapeutic interventions to adults with a learning disability. They will be able to demonstrate enthusiasm for and understanding of key principles and issues relating to working with this client group, in line with the Gwent LD Strategy.In addition to the qualifications outlined in the accompanying job descriptions and person specifications, the successful candidate will have substantial experience of working with individuals with a learning disability and/or mental health problems, and individuals who present with highly complex needs and behaviours that challenge.
