Job Description

Are you an experienced Warehouse & Distribution Manager, looking for a new and exciting opportunityThe RoleAs part of the Operations function, the Warehouse and Distribution Manager is responsible for ensuring the delivery, storage/receipt of the final product in a safe and cost-effective manner. They will be responsible for identifying cost reductions in linewith annual plan and develop partnerships with contractors to promote improvements in safety performance, service levels and financial benefits.Other responsibilities within this role will include:

  • Implementation & management of the Safety Management System for the WHS including safe systems of work
  • Conducting regular safety audits and follow up actions, including incident and accident reporting and investigation
  • Ensuring compliance with the various business systems e.g., QA (ISO 9001:2000) LRQA, Customer, Environment Management System ISO 14001 etc.
  • Ensure the effective management of all resources involved in warehousing and distribution within the Function.
  • Implement effective systems for achieving customer delivery times within the agreed SLAs whilst minimising rush orders through continuous improvement, and long-term warehouse and distribution strategies.
  • Lead the continuous improvement activities in order to create and communicate an integrated area improvement plan aimed at achieving customer delivery expectations whilst delivering maximum cost benefits through load maximisation and packaging optimisation.
  • Lead and coach others through the continuous improvement process e.g., Sustainable Operational Excellence for the area to instill high standards, also ensure that employees are empowered to contribute ideas.
The Successful Applicant Will:
  • Have overall accountability for the operational performance of the Warehouse and manage the operation teams so knowledge in warehouse management is essential.
  • Effective communication skills are essential in order to ensure all services operated are provided in line with agreed policies and standards are met or exceeded for both internal and external customers in terms of safety, cost and service.

Salary:
  • £36,642 - £44,400 depending on experience
