Job Description

Health and Safety Advisor Vacancy for a large manufacturing company based in Liversedge, West Yorkshire. This role is integral within the Liversedge support team and reports directly to the Plant EHS Leader. The primary responsibility of this role is toinitiate, and lead duties related to compliance with EHS Legislation, ISO Standards and OC specific EHS systems.Client DetailsLocated in West Yorkshire my client is a large, global manufacturing business who supply products worldwide. Due to internal changes they are now looking to recruit a new, days based, Health and Safety Advisor. This is an excellent opportunity to join aforward thinking, diverse manufacturing company which would come with great career progression opportunities.DescriptionAs the Health and Safety Advisor you will be competent in health and safety duties and excellent at prioritising tasks and planning activities. You will possess strong communication skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels are essential.Responsibilities will include:

  • Responsible for having ownership of the HSE management systems including ISO 14001 and ISO 18001 ensuring creation, review and maintenance of associated documents and systems as listed below:
  • Investigation into accidents and incidents, creating corrective and preventative action plans and ensuring closure of actions
  • Site lead for nominated and agreed safety programmes and for Emergency planning, including regular simulation and training exercises, fire risk assessments.
  • Manage the site risk assessment schedule, ensuring compliance to schedule by all risk assessors, developing corrective actions with assistance from other teams and chasing closure of actions.
  • Managing site recycling process and identifying new opportunities for recycling and reducing site waste environmental impact. Overseeing vendor management of the site waste management contract.
  • Deliver safety inductions to new hires and contractors where appropriate, regularly review and update induction content taking account for site changes.
  • Be the primary site contact for neighbour concerns relating to EHS impacts, logging contacts, agreeing corrective actions and chasing closure of actions.
  • Work with Production, Maintenance, Support and Management to ensure compliance with Corporate and Regulatory EHS requirements.
ProfileTo apply for the Health and Safety Advisor Vacancy based in Liversedge, West Yorkshire you will have a good understanding of manufacturing and production processes. You will also work well under pressure with a respect for timeframes and deadlines.Requirements
  • Approx, 2 years experience in a Safety, Health and Environment (EHS) role within a manufacturing environment.
  • NEBOSH General Certificate or other similar level qualification minimum.
  • Experienced with ISO 18001, 14001 and 9001 standards
  • Comfortable working as part of a team or standalone
  • Good prioritisation skills and the ability to keep multiple projects and tasks running simultaneously
  • Knows how to effectively engage colleagues at all levels in taking appropriate action
  • Very strong skills in communication and influencing others
  • Excellent written, verbal, organizational, administrative and communication skills.
  • Highly numerate and computer literate. Has an interest in management information systems and their development
Job OfferSalary will be between £25,000 and £38,000 with a company bonus scheme.
