Job Description

Service EngineerFull-time, PermanentLondon and wider area£39k, £50k OTE (with overtime)Main purpose of jobOur client is a world leader in intelligent electric heating and renewable energy solutions, as well as holding significant global market positions in domestic appliances, cooling and ventilation.Our client is looking for a Service / Controls / and Product Enable Engineer.The Service / Controls / and Product Enable Engineer will be required to perform set to work and validation of operation of company installed products including associated controls systems, conduct fault finding investigations, repair / replace componentsand carry out PPM and refurbishment of HVAC products.Accountabilities

  • Perform required work tasks assigned from the office-based service team submitted via email or calendar invite, to meet the needs of our client base
  • Recognise and understand the scope of the assigned task from the office team and carry out the appropriate activities to complete, seeking clarification from Service management if unclear
  • Ensure that the required parts, equipment, software, tooling, access, instructions, technical and
H&S information is in place, to enable the task to be completed during the planned visit
  • Ability to fault find, diagnose and set to work Heat pump products (Dimplex and other manufacture)
  • Complete written service records for every visit and submit to the office within 24 hours of the visit, providing the office with an accurate record of site activities
  • When conducting an investigative visit, ensure that all relevant data and information including photos where appropriate, are submitted to the office to allow the necessary follow up activity to be completed
  • Act as the ambassador for the company when on site, representing our values and behaviours in an appropriate manner and providing the pivotal link between customer and our office team
  • Manage the delivery of on-site training of clients staff in relation to FCU engineering tool
  • Cooperate and liaise with our customers and their appointed sub-contractors, providing advice and support appropriate to the assigned task
  • To liaise with site personnel on ad-hoc requirements ensuring we understand the project / client needs and can deliver accordingly
  • Ensure that the required parts, equipment, software, tooling, access, instructions, technical and
H&S information is in place to enable the task to be completed during the planned visit
  • In conjunction with the Service, Sales, Contracts, Technical and Controls teams assist with any issues to help promote sales and customer relationships
  • Ensure that all work clothing, PPE, tooling, vehicle, etc. are kept clean and in good condition maintaining their effectiveness and promoting the right company image.
  • Organise maintenance to the company vehicle in accordance with the manufacturers terms and the current company vehicle policy in order to avoid end of lease charges
  • Where appropriate, ensure that any measuring equipment is calibrated and certified to provide accurate, accountable resultant data
  • Always ensure that consumables are stocked in the company vehicle enabling first time fixes and continuity of work
  • Act as an ambassador for all H&S matters relating to the assigned task in conjunction with company product systems; promoting best practice and helping to develop and implement company working practices and procedures.
  • Ensure all departmental tasks and functions are undertaken in a safe manner in accordance with the company Health and Safety policies, procedures and management system
  • Uphold the highest standards of quality, protect and consider the environment whilst adhering to our ISO9001, ISO14001 and ISO45001 processes and procedures
  • Keep abreast of industry standards and regulations and feedback to the service team, advising any actions we may need to take
  • Attend any product and associated equipment training as and when required and ensure that all training / qualifications are upheld and in date
  • Conduct fault finding and various repairs to fan coil units and their associated controls (including valve sets) of any manufacturer protecting the company interest or generating sales in the cases of warranty or refurbishment works
  • Carry out set to works of company equipment in accordance with company procedures, enabling products to be handed over to the client in a fully operational state
  • Provide office support in surveys and other site visits to provide required information to either defend the business or promote new business
  • Provide customer training on companys products where required, promoting excellent customer service and leaving the product / property operational, reducing post order customer contact
  • On occasion when the office is unable to provide site work, you may be required to attend the factory and perform assembly duties or training.
  • On occasion stay overnight to fulfil the task

  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of HVAC systems both mechanically, electrically and their associated controls systems in order to competently work on the range of products we support
  • F Gas certified
  • G3 certified
  • Ability to work without direct supervision as you are expected to be self-sufficient based on directive workload from the office/ client
  • Previous experience of Building Management Systems (BMS)
  • CSCS/Skills card holder
  • Full and valid driving license
  • Satisfactory DBS record
  • Microsoft office
DESIRABLE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
  • Electrically qualified
  • PASMA card
  • IPAF
  • Previous experience of Delta Control Systems
