Job Description

Senior Scientist - CambridgeCellular BiologyFull time & permanent positionExcellent bonus and benefits packageI am working with a very exciting Biotech who are opening a facility in the Cambridge area, and one of the key positions they are looking to fill is that of a Senior Scientist. This would suit a candidate with excellent laboratory experience within a drugdiscovery setting who also possesses a wide range of skills with different laboratory techniques within molecular and cellular biology. This position will in time offer leadership opportunities and the chance to make a real impact with a cutting-edge Biotech.Key duties of the role include:

  • Supporting drug discovery projects in the field of oncology
  • Developing cell based and biochemical assays and then screening cellular activity
  • Culturing cell lines and developing new ones
  • Analysing project data and then driving projects forward
  • Working with external collaborators to update on projects, and communicating business plans both internally and externally
Skills and experience required:Essential:
  • PhD within a Biological discipline such as Cell Biology or Pharmacology, or a BSc/MSc degree with strong industry experience within drug discovery
  • Industry experience working within drug discovery
  • Experience working with cellular assays and systems applied to target validation and screening as well as hands on experience with Western Blot, HTRF/Alphascreen and Luminescence
  • Strong experience with mammalian cell culture and cell line generation and an understanding of disease biology in oncology/immunology
  • Excellent communication skills
Desirable:
  • Project management experience
  • Leadership or supervisory experience
