Job Description

Laboratory Solutions recruitment are recruiting for a rapidly expanding CRO based on the outskirts of Cambridge and they are looking to hire a permanent and experienced Bioanalytical Scientist, check out the spec below!As an analytical/bioanalytical scientist, you will be responsible for working with an established internal team to solve problems and deliver results for client projects. You will work at the interface between chemistry and biology, analysing samples prepared from a variety of biological matrices. You will contribute to several different projects, across the whole drug discovery spectrum from Hit Identification to Lead Optimisation.The successful applicant will work with an experienced analytical group leader and contribute to the expansion and evolution of our growing department.The successful candidate will have:

  • Ph.D/ M.Sc/ B.Sc/ degree in chemistry, natural sciences, or biochemistry.
  • Industrial experience (ideally more than 3 years), with a proven track record in analytical assay development and delivery of results where your conclusions have guided projects
  • Experience with mass spectrometry (LC-MS, LC-MSMS)
  • Experience with plate-based assays
  • problem-solving ability by combining personal knowledge of method/assay development and techniques, with the desire to seek-out and apply novel and innovative solutions
  • the ability to generate bespoke assays for client-based projects, with some support from experienced colleagues if required
  • attention to detail
  • excellent inter-personal skills and proven ability to work in a team
  • good communication skills; able to summarise and present scientific results and ideas to colleagues and external clients or collaborators as required
  • a proactive attitude, and strives to deliver high quality science
  • An ideal candidate will also have experience in some of the following areas:
  • In vitro ADME and related assays e.g. hepatocyte stability, plasma-protein binding
  • Handling of mammalian cells
  • Protein analysis
  • Bio-analysis
