Job Description

Hours: 42.5 hours per weekMonday to Friday 08.00 to 17.15OVERVIEWOur client has been delivering across the UK since 1833, they can reach areas that other cannot. Today, they are Logistic UKs most innovative business of the year, with a strong focus on the future, sustainability, and innovationThey keep moving forwards.You will work closely with their Operations Manager, who will support you to execute a busy multi-drop schedule collecting World of Books Totes from various stores. Youll have the opportunity to drive one of our state-of-the-art Class 2 HGVs and will havefull access to their advanced technology, which will free you up to deliver an uncompromised level of service.WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Planning delivery and collection schedules as well as routes with transport manager
  • Supervising and helping to load and unload goods
  • Ensure the vehicle is loaded and unloaded safely and within the legislation
  • Following traffic reports and changing your route if necessary
  • Safeguard the security of the vehicle and goods contained during transit to the customer
  • Completing delivery paperwork and logbooks
  • Refuel and clean vehicle
WHAT YOU NEED
  1. A Valid Category C1 Drivers Licence
  2. A valid digital tacho card and CPC card
  3. No previous disqualifications NI, DD or DR
  4. A detailed understanding of the rules and regulation around drivers hours
  5. Physically fit to meet the demands of a multi-drop driving role- Heavy Lifting involved so knowledge of Manual Handling Techniques is essential
  6. Hardworking, positive and a flexible attitude to work
  7. Undergo a background check and drug/alcohol test if successful
